Overview

As TV One's Online Producer, I played a central role in the network's early digital transformation. I led the launch of its first social media channels, managed editorial content across multiple verticals, and supported the redesign and relaunch of its website. My work helped shape TV One's digital voice and laid the foundation for audience engagement in a rapidly evolving media landscape.

Challenge

TV One needed to establish its presence in the emerging digital and social space, build a consistent content pipeline, and develop a cohesive brand voice that resonated with Black audiences online. With limited infrastructure and evolving platforms, the challenge was building from scratch—with cultural authenticity and speed.

Strategy

  • Launched and managed TV One's first social media channels on Facebook and Twitter, establishing the brand's digital voice and engagement approach.

  • Oversaw blog content strategy and editorial workflow, managing writers across key verticals including Obama Watch and entertainment news.

  • Supported and promoted digital campaigns tied to major shows and specials including Unsung, Life After, K-Ci & JoJo…Come Clean, LisaRaye: The Real McCoy, The Ultimate Merger, and Washington Watch with Roland Martin.

  • Produced original video content to complement on-air programming and enhance online engagement.

  • Collaborated cross-functionally to support the relaunch of TVOne.tv—contributing to copywriting, UX structure, and digital marketing rollout.

  • Conceptualized and launched Urban Game Jam, an innovative interactive content initiative designed to position TV One within the growing gaming and tech space.

Results

  • Established TV One's digital presence from the ground up, launching its first social media channels and building an engaged online audience.

  • Launched the network's first original web series, The Cube Life, expanding TV One's storytelling into digital-first content.

  • Created and executed Urban Game Jam, an interactive gaming competition that positioned the brand within the emerging digital entertainment space.

  • Built scalable editorial and content systems that enabled sustained digital growth and brand consistency.
